Terms of service

The agreement between Giant Steps and the organisation whose account you are using.

Last updated 14 September 2026

What Mira is

Mira is software for running an event: ticketing figures, access control, marketing, budgets. It is operated by Giant Steps, Lisbon, Portugal. These terms are between us and the organisation whose account you are using.

Accounts

Access is by invitation from an organisation's administrator. You are responsible for what happens under your login, and for telling us if you think someone else has it. An administrator can remove anyone's access at any time, and we can suspend an account that is being used to break these terms.

Your data stays yours

Everything an organisation puts into Mira belongs to that organisation. We do not sell it, we do not use it to train anything, and we do not share it with other customers. We process it to run the service, and we delete it within 30 days of the account ending. An export can be requested at any time.

Connecting Meta and Google

When you connect an ad account, you authorise Mira to act on that account on your behalf, within the permissions you granted: to read the accounts and Pages available to you, and to create campaigns. Three things follow from that, and they are the ones that matter.

  • Everything is created paused. No campaign written in Mira starts spending money by itself. It is created in a paused state on the platform, and someone has to switch it on.
  • You remain the advertiser. The ads are yours. You are responsible for what they say, for the rights to the images and music in them, and for following Meta's and Google's own advertising policies. Mira does not review your ads and cannot approve them; the platforms do that.
  • Audiences are your responsibility. If you upload your customer list to target it, you confirm you have the right to do so — normally consent for marketing — and that you have told those people their data may be used this way. Mira hashes the addresses before they leave, and defaults to the segment that consented, but the lawful basis is yours.

You can disconnect at any time, from Mira or from the platform itself. Disconnecting stops Mira from acting on the account; campaigns already created keep running until you change them on the platform.

What you agree not to do

  • No illegal or deceptive advertising. Nothing that breaks the law where the ads run, and nothing designed to mislead the people who see it.
  • No data you were not given. Do not upload contact lists you bought, scraped or otherwise obtained without the people's knowledge.
  • No abuse of the platform. No attempts to reach another organisation's data, no automated hammering of the API, no reselling access.

Availability

We work to keep Mira up and we tell you when it is not, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. Planned work is announced in advance where we can.

Liability

Mira is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost sales, or the cost of advertising you decided to run — including money spent by a campaign after you switched it on. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending it

An organisation can stop using Mira at any time and ask for its data back. We can end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, with notice and, where the circumstances allow, a chance to put it right first.

Law

Portuguese law applies, and the courts of Lisbon have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
